2. Leonard Walter Hansman Obituary, born in Brockway, Township   Death

Together with his father, he helped out on the family farm by transporting milk cans. On September 27, 1941, he wed Lucille Schwartzkopf in Capac, and the ceremony took place there. After enlisting in the United States Army, Leonard served as a tank gunner in Germany before eventually coming back to the United States in 1945. He had a brief stint of employment at the formerly known as the Yale Woolen Mills as well as the Buick assembly plant in Flint. After working as an auto mechanic at Sheardy Motors in Yale for almost a decade, he took a position as the service manager for Hodgins-LaFave Ford in Yale, where he remained until his retirement in 1983.

He was a member of Cole United Methodist Church, where he had served as an usher. He was also a former Brockway Twp. Fireman and a member of V.F.W. Post #8594 in Yale. Leonard and Lucille played in a band that performed at weddings. In addition, he manufactured and raced vehicles in the local region. In addition to his wife Lucille, to who he had been married for 72 years, he is survived by three daughters: Karen and Richard Nunn of Marlette, Betty Brown of Yale, and Connie Peake of Port Huron; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
