Gordon R. Harrison, who resided in Princeton and was 66 years old at the time of his passing on November 4, 2012, Gordon Harrison was the son of the late Clifford Harrison and Josephine Merrill Harrison. He was born in Glenridge, New Jersey, and grew up in Verona, New Jersey, before enrolling at Princeton University in 1964. Up to the time of his passing, he called Princeton home. Gordon attended College High School in Montclair, New Jersey, and went on to get his Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics from Princeton University.
After that, he continued his education and earned a graduate degree in classical archaeology. While attending Princeton, Gordon was a standout athlete on 11 of the school’s varsity teams and served as the Sports Chairman of the dining club he belonged to. Even after he graduated from college, he continued to pursue his passion for golf. After finishing his studies for his master’s degree, Gordon enlisted in the United States Army Reserve. He attended the University of South Carolina for his higher education and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. During his time at USC, he was also an officer in the Kappa Sigma Kappa honorary service fraternity, a member of the USC Student Senate, and a section editor for the USC “Garnet and Black” yearbook.
