It’s with great sadness the Brighton Police Department announces the passing of Commander Frank Acosta. Commander Acosta joined Brighton Police in February of 2000 after working more than eight years as a State Trooper for the Colorado State Patrol. Commander Acosta died of natural causes. Commander Acosta worked as a patrol officer, a detective for the North Metro Drug Task Force, Patrol Sergeant, Investigations Sergeant, Investigations Commander and most recently as Commander of the Professional Services Unit.
Commander Acosta was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the 82nd Airborne stationed out of Fort Bragg. Commander Acosta earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Regis University and a bachelor’s degree in management from National American University. “This is a horrible loss and we all feel the pain,” said Brighton Police Chief Paul Southard. “Commander Acosta was such a bright light loved by all in our department. He served our community with such dedication over the past 22 years and we are forever grateful for his commitment.”  Source

2. Kenneth G. Frank Death, Of Manitowoc – Obituary

Kenneth G. “Kenny” Frank, age 46, a resident of the community of Two Creeks, passed away suddenly at his residence on Friday morning, September 16, 2022, from complications related to Parkinson’s disease. Kenny Frank was brought into this world on February 29, 1976 in Manitowoc by his parents, Laddie and Lynne (Borgwardt). He is a graduate of Mishicot Public Schools, having received his diploma from Mishicot High School in 1995 with the class of 1995. Following that, he decided to complete his studies by enrolling in the mechanics program at NWTC. Kenny spent his early childhood and early adult years working on farms, earning the nickname “farm boy” throughout his life (He Loved Tractors).

After that, he worked in the construction industry for a considerable amount of time and was a proud member of Union Local 330. In addition to this, he was employed at a number of nuclear power facilities, where he held the position of Civil Superintendent for Nuclear Laborers until his retirement in 2019. Over the course of more than 23 years, Kenny served as a volunteer firefighter and first responder with the Two Creeks Fire Department. He had a passion for life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed racing for a number of years at 141 Speedway and liked everything there was to love about the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and camping as his ultimate favorite activity.
