The name of the woman whose body was discovered inside a burning vehicle under an overpass on Interstate 24 has been made public by the police. Early on Friday morning on Old Glenrose Avenue, the body of Ethel Geraldine Kennedy, who was 60 years old and from Nashville, was discovered inside the vehicle. The authorities claim that a passing motorist observed the truck completely engulfed in flames about 5 a.m. and immediately dialed 911.
While they were putting out the fire, firefighters from the Nashville Fire Department discovered a body in the backseat of the vehicle. According to reports, John F. Kennedy’s body was burnt beyond recognition. A suspicious origin can be inferred from the evidence that was found at the scene of the fire. Survived by her two children, Laura Broadwell, who is married to Travis, and Joseph Broadwell Jr., who is married to Judi Gollick; her two sisters, Lou Ann Pleshe and Mary Beth Velleux; her brother, Joseph Dwyer; her significant other of many years, Ronnie Wortman; and her closest and best friend for her entire life, Deborah Mackey Penegor. A large number of nieces and nephews, in addition to her four-legged companions Pugsley and Dillon, have made it through this tragedy.
Her husbands Joseph Broadwell Sr., Donald Wren, and James “Bones” Kennedy, as well as her parents Donald and Helen (Taylor) Dwyer, two brothers William and Robert Dwyer, one sister Susan Oram, a nephew named Ryan Velleux, and a dear friend named Naomi Skeldon all before her in death. He was a lifelong inhabitant of Joliet, having been born there. After attending St. Mary’s Carmelite School and Joliet Central High School, Geri received her diploma.
