1. Eldon Trumm Death, of Worthington, Iowa – Obituary

Eldon was the son of Leo and Coletta (Heid) Trumm and was born on April 20, 1943, in Monticello, Iowa. His parents’ names are Leo and Coletta (Heid). On June 21st, 1969, they tied the knot in Worthington, Iowa. Kaye Burger was his bride. They did everything in Worthington together, from farming to raising their children. Over the course of more than half a century, Eldon devoted his time to collecting farm toys, penning books on the subject of farm toy collecting, and building his own toy tractors and parts. He was well-known all over the world as a go-to source for information regarding farm toys.

The Farm Toy Collectors Hall of Fame recognized his contributions with an induction. Eldon, a wealthy farmer and a former mayor of Worthington, volunteered his time to plant and care for the cornfield that was used in the filming of the 1988 movie, Field of Dreams. The filming of the movie took place throughout the summer of that year. It became clear to Hollywood that they had made the correct choice in caretaker when, unbeknownst to them, he ordered the producer and the director to leave the field because he did not want them to damage the corn, which he referred to as “the most important actor in this movie.”  Read More


2. Eldon Lee O’Morrow Death, of Lapeer – Obituary

Eldon Lee “Gus” O’Morrow, originally of Goodrich, Michigan, passed away on September 30, 2021, and is now with the Lord. He was a resident of Lapeer. He was 92. On January 23, 1929, in Brown City, Michigan, Eldon was born at home to the late Howard Lee O’Morrow and Jessie (née Shephard) O’Morrow, who had previously passed away. On May 22, 1949, he tied the knot with Maude Lucille Holderbaum in Goodrich, Michigan. On August 26, 1986, his wife Maude passed away before he did.

The wedding took place on January 4, 1988, when Eldon wed Jeanette Phylis Pratt. Jeanette passed away on July 15, 2000, a day before her husband. Eldon is survived by his five sons, Donald (who was married to Dee, who passed away), Edward (Christine), Thomas (Lisa), Michael (Robben), and Jonathon (Nora); a large number of grandkids; a large number of great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Donald Tucker.
