1. Dylan Oakes Death, of Girard – Obituary

A motorbike accident that occurred in Fairview early in the morning resulted in the death of one individual. Reportedly traveling eastward on a motorcycle at a high rate of speed around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday in the 7700 block of West Ridge Road, the victim, who has been named as Dylan Oakes, 24, from Girard, was involved in a collision. Accident at drive-through restaurant causes damage to telephone pole just feet away from diners According to the findings of the investigation conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police, he went off the right side of the road, hit several immovable objects,

including a fence, and was subsequently ejected from the motorcycle. According to the reports, Oakes passed away instantly. His death was judged an accident by the Erie County Coroner, who cited many instances of blunt force injuries as the cause. A man from Hunlock Creek was killed in a head-on collision in Warren County. The Fairview Fire Department, the West County Paramedic Service, the Millcreek Paramedic Service, the Erie County Coroner’s Office, and Eagle Auto all provided assistance to the State Police while they were on the scene. Accident on a motorcycle claimed the life of 24-year-old Dylan H. Oakes of Girard, Pennsylvania on September 17, 2022. He was involved in the crash in Fairview Township. On July 15, 1998, he was welcomed into the world in Erie as the son of Girard residents Kevin H. Oakes and Pam Hermsdorf Oakes. Dylan completed his high school education at Girard in 2016 and his undergraduate degree at Edinboro University in May of this year. Prior to this, he had been working at McDonald’s in order to put himself through college. During the course of his six years working there, he was able to cultivate friendships that would last a lifetime.

It had only been a short while since he had begun his new job as a public accountant in Erie with Schaffner Knight Minnaugh Company. He looked forward to become a certified public accountant since he enjoyed working with finances. Dylan cherished his time spent in the fast lane of life. One of his favorite things to do was to ride about on his motorcycle. He followed both the Steelers and the Penguins with great zeal. Dylan had a lot of fun playing Xbox with his pals and hanging out with them. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him will mourn his passing. His maternal grandparents, Robert and Judith Hermsdorf, as well as his twin sisters at birth, Hayley and Jenna Oakes, all passed away before he was born.   Read more
