1. Delaphine (Della) Griffin Death, of Wyandotte, OK – Obituary

After a long battle with illness, Delaphine (Della) Griffin, age 86, from Wyandotte, Oklahoma, entered into eternal rest on August 16, 2022, at the Higher Call Nursing Home in Quapaw. Delaphine DeMoss, the daughter of Earl and Venona (Tomlinson) DeMoss, was born on March 20, 1936, in Stella, Missouri. Her parents’ names are Earl and Venona. She had spent the entirety of her life in the vicinity.

She attended Seneca High School and graduated in the year 1954. She was known as Della by her family and friends, and she had many interests and passions, including the kitchen, reading, and most of all, spending time with her family. In the town of Neosho, Missouri, Della was a member of the Sheep Shed. On May 15, 1954, in Seneca, Missouri, Delaphine DeMoss tied the knot with Lester Vaughn Griffin, and he is still alive today. 2. James B. Griffin Death, Born in Erie, PA – Obituary

Although he was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, he spent his childhood in Findley Lake, New York, and graduated as the valedictorian of his high school class in 1934. In 1940, Jim enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served with distinction in the 1st Marine Division’s 3rd Guard Company throughout World War II. As a result of his actions in the Marshall Islands, the Mariana Islands, and the seizure of Guam, he was awarded the Bronze Star as well as a Gold Star in place of the second Bronze Star.

After the war, he settled down at Findley Lake and began a career as a dairy farmer. He worked on the farm until he retired in 1979. In 1988, he made the switch to Westfield. Jim cherished the great outdoors, all kinds of animals, gardening, watching birds, reading, helping out in the kitchen, and performing other chores around the house, as well as going on three-mile walks with his wife.
