Pat Ann Forrester
Patricia “Pat” Ann Forrester, 94, of Traverse City, formerly of Beulah, died Friday, June 10, 2022, at Country Pleasures Assisted Living facility.
She was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Boyd and Bertha (Rogalski) King.
Pat moved to Benzie County at a young age and spent most of her life in Beulah. She graduated from Benzonia High School in 1946 and graduated from Bronson Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She worked for two years as a nurse for Osteopathic Hospital in Traverse City.
On June 8, 1952, at the First Congregational Church UCC in Benzonia, Patricia married the love of her life, Francis James Forrester, who preceded her in death in 2010.
Pat loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, canning, knitting, crocheting and singing in the church choir. Pat and Fran created many memorable adventures for their children. They loved camping, fishing, canoeing, hiking, swimming, dancing and playing cards. Fran owned and operated Beulah Drug for over 50 years. Pat and all six children worked in the store at various times throughout the years. Her life was well lived and she will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
She is survived by her six children, James (Deb) Forrester, of Traverse City; Elizabeth Daughtery, of Clearwater; Florida, Jeff (Erin) Forrester, of Benzonia; Nathan (Lois) Forrester, of Traverse City; Robert Forrester, of Midland; and Paul (Deb) Forrester, of Lakewood, California; nine grandchildren, Grant Forrester, Greg Forrester, Griffin Forrester, Colin (Colleen) Daughtery, Scott (Tahtianna) Forrester, Max Forrester, Eric Forrester, Greg Roper and Sarah (Brad) Patterson; seven great-grandchildren; brother in-law, Allen (Anne) Forrester; and sister in-law, Geraldine Forrester.
Patricia was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; brother, Bruce King; sister, Dorothy Pilolla; and brothers-in-law, Claude Forrester and Gary Forrester.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2022, at the First Congregational Church U.C.C. of Benzonia, with the Reverend Patty Higgins officiating. Interment will follow in the Benzonia Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, Beulah.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to First Congregational Church UCC of Benzonia or The Care Team Home Health & Hospice at the Traverse City location in Pat’s Memory.
