A man was shot and killed Wednesday night during an apparent road rage incident in far east Harris County, according to authorities.

Deputies responded around 9:20 p.m. to the intersection of Dell Dale Avenue and Woodforest Boulevard and found a man with gunshot wounds, officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the man got into an altercation with the driver of a tan vehicle while driving northbound on Dell Dale, HCSO added. The driver of the tan vehicle then shot at the victim at least three times as the two vehicles approached the Woodforest intersection.

The gunman, who authorities have already identified, is expected to surrender, according to homicide detectives.
