Houston, Texas crime: Woman shot while riding in vehicle

There suspect’s vehicle has been described as a darker-colored Toyota SUV.

HOUSTON — A woman was shot and killed Monday night while riding in a vehicle on the southeast side of town, police said.

Details are limited, but police said the woman was riding in a vehicle with several people when a black Toyota SUV pulled alongside them in the 8600 block of Glenvista and started shooting.

The driver of the car carrying the victim pulled into a gas station in the 8100 block of River Drive near the Gulf Freeway and called 911.

The woman, who police said was in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. Her name hasn’t been released.

No one else in the vehicle was hurt.

The occupants told police they have no idea why someone fired at them.

At this time, there is no known suspect or motive in the shooting.
