Dean Westlake Obituary: According to the manslaughter charges, former Alaska state Representative Westlake passed away after being “punched” by his son. In Anchorage on Saturday morning, former state Representative Dean Westlake’s son is accused of killing his father by beating him to death. Tallon Westlake, age 36, is being accused of manslaughter and tampering with evidence in connection with the death of his father, Dean Westlake, age 62, who was a representative for the district that includes Kiana in the Alaska House of Representatives from January 2017 until December 2017. Initial evidence suggests that the father and son had gotten into a fight over a disagreement regarding the rent for the South Anchorage apartment where Dean Westlake was found dead. According to the accusations, Tallon informed the investigators that he did not wish to discuss the matter with them. After examining the body, which had been found lying on its back in a corridor, it appeared that Dean had been severely beaten. They saw what appeared to be blood spatter and streaks of blood in the hallway. They detected a strong odor of bleach and noticed that the floors appeared to have just been mopped even though they were still wet. Because Tallon was wanted for questioning in connection with a case that occurred in 2021 and involved allegations that he disobeyed the direction of a police officer to stop, the detectives decided to arrest him and bring him in for questioning. The charges stated that Tallon continued to refuse to talk despite the fact that detectives observed what appeared to be blood on his hands and that his right hand was swollen. It didn’t take long for the detectives to figure out that Dean’s girlfriend, who was away at the time, was the building’s owner. According to the accusations, she shared with them over the phone from New York that Tallon had been residing in the apartment but had not paid rent for the past four months, and that Dean intended to evict Tallon. She did this while she was in New York. Full Obituary
