On August 31, a brain tumor took the life of Daniel E. McIntyre III, a former managing partner at Deutsche Bank and securities lawyer. He passed away at his home in Roland Park. He was 64. Daniel Edward McIntyre was born in Newark, New Jersey, but he spent his childhood in Short Hills. His father, Daniel E. McIntyre, is a dentist, and his mother, Mary Toohey McIntyre, is a homemaker. Mary Toohey McIntyre gave birth to Daniel Edward McIntyre. After completing his secondary education at Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, New Jersey, in 1974, he attended Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, where he received his bachelor’s degree in economics in 1978.

In 1981, he graduated with a law degree from Seton Hall University Law School in Newark, where he studied law. According to members of his family, Mr. McIntyre began his professional career working for the Securities and Exchange Commission in New York City. Subsequently, he joined the legal firm of Sage Gray Todd & Sims in Manhattan, where he developed his litigation talents. After relocating to Baltimore in 1989, he took a position as assistant general counsel at Alex. Brown & Sons, where he initially advised the retail division and then the investment banking group.
