2. Craig Kern Death, Of Winchester – Obituary

On January 2, 2019, Craig Kern, 69 years old, who had previously lived in Winchester, Virginia, passed away. Craig, who was born on March 19, 1949, was married to his wife, Seri, for a total of forty-five years. Nathan Kern, whose mother’s name was Heather, was one of his children, and Heather Kern Scarbrough was the other (husband Albert). His great-granddaughter and his nine grandchildren all referred to him as “Pap Paw.” He is now reunited with his granddaughter April Rose for all eternity. Pete and Arbutus Kern, who had one other child before him, knew him as their oldest child before they passed away. All three of his siblings were from Winchester and had married men named J. D. Robinson, Randy Bowen, and Patricia Hines, respectively.

e was the brother of Sharon Robinson and Karen Bowen. Karen, his youngest sister, has referred to him as “my hero” ever since he rescued her from drowning as a child while she was stranded in a stream beneath a bridge. This title will follow him throughout his life. His previous coworkers at Karper’s (Winchester) referred to him as “Pig Pen,” and for a while, he displayed this nickname with great pride on the helmet he wore while he was at work (he wanted it on his license plate, but his wife said no). Back in the day (many years ago), Craig was referred to as “Coach” by the Little League players in Middletown. Even though he had not coached for almost 40 years, he still remembered all of his players and the heroic things they had accomplished. Read more
