2. Judith Kerr Obituary – Death

Judith Kerr, the author and illustrator of such beloved children’s books as “The Tiger Who Came to Tea” and “Mog the Forgetful Cat,” passed away recently at the age of 95. She was a rare individual in that she achieved unprecedented levels of success in both of these fields. She always claimed that she was “a very slow” illustrator and that her work was “more rubbing out than drawing,”

Her first book was published in 1968 and was a huge success: “The Tiger Who Came to Tea.” It tells the playful and imaginative story of how the everyday routine of a mother and her young daughter, Sophie, is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of a handsome stripy tiger. Characterized by its bold, naive-style illustrations and gentle anarchy, the book tells the story in a way that is both imaginative and playful.  Read more Obituaries established by De Affluxes Hardes International in 2019 is a death and obituary news aggregation service that provides a nonstop flow of links to articles that have been compiled from the work of thousands of different publishers and magazines.
