In a shooting on Hendee Street in New Orleans, a 16-year-old boy was killed and a 17-year-old girl was injured.

A 16-year-old boy was slain and a 17-year-old girl was wounded in a shooting, according to New Orleans Police, at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

On the west bank of Orleans Parish, at the intersection of Hendee Street and Wall Boulevard, a gunshot occurred. Cody Davis, a 16-year-old boy, was the deceased victim.


A bunch of kids were sitting out on a porch when multiple people started firing, according to Davis’ uncle. “I came out after the firing stopped and was surprised to see my nephew laying right there,” he added. “Because I heard the kids screaming and crying and then they vanished.” Only one small boy, his little friend, was left out there, crying. ‘Uncle Mike, the person was standing right there,’ she said as she lay on him.
