Christina S. Mitchell Obituary: Christina S. (Manis) Mitchell, a resident of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, passed away at Boston Medical Center on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the age of 74. She was surrounded by her devoted family at the time of her passing. She was the devoted wife of the late William R. Mitchell, with whom she had a happy marriage that lasted 43 years until his passing in 2014. They had two children together. She was the daughter of Michael Manis, who passed away, and Stella (Kelesakos) Manis, who also passed away. She was born on August 6, 1947 in the Bronx, New York. New York was Christina’s home throughout her childhood, and she received her high school diploma from Walton High School in the Bronx. She had a day care business that she ran out of her house for a good number of years. Christina was a devout and deeply spiritual person. She was an active member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Dracut, where she was also one of the founding members of the congregation. She was very proud of her Greek heritage and Greek music was one of her favorite musical genres. She always looked forward to going to the Greek festivals held by the Church. One of her favorite places to visit was York Beach in Maine. She had a passion for going out to eat and shopping. Christina was the kind of person who would do anything for you; she would gladly give you the shirt right off her back. She treasured her family above all else, and she found that she was at her happiest when she was surrounded by her loved ones. Her three children, Karen Gouveia and her husband David of Tyngsboro, Michael Mitchell of Salisbury, and Nina Mitchell and her fiancé Paulo Santos of Danvers, as well as her grandson, Nicholas Gouveia, her sister-in-law Carol Pomphret, and several close cousins, will miss Christina terribly. In addition to her devoted husband, she was preceded in death by both her brother Christos Manis and her closest friend Margaret Lacasse. Both of these people were very important to her.    Full Obituary
