1. Chris Foyle Obituary, Graham Hancock Facebook Tribute – Death

“The passing of a dear friend is hard to accept, especially when he is an exemplary human being. My dear friend Chris Foyle, former Chairman of Foyles Bookstores, approached his death, as he did his life, with fortitude, good humour and curiosity. Born on 20 January 1943, he passed away on 10 August 2022 after a courageous 7-year fight with acute myeloid leukemia during which I never heard him utter even a single word of self-pity. On the contrary he maintained a cheerful, encouraging, positive demeanour to the last. He was a buoyant, generous open-minded spirit. He was deeply interested in alternative archaeology, and hosted several speaking events for me at Foyles. He also founded the Foyle Research Institute to fund the scientific investigation of unusual and anomalistic phenomena. In this connection he backed the wildlife photographer Jeremy Holden to search for solid evidence of the Orang Pendek, Sumatra’s version of Big Foot.” Source
