Family and friends will unite on Thursday, September 15, 2022 for visitation at 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Bernardine of Siena Catholic Church, 2400 Brooks Drive, Hillcrest Heights, MD. On January 10, 2022, Charles William Sylvester, Jr., age 76, of Pepperell, Massachusetts, and formerly of Lowell and Dracut, passed away at Lowell General Hospital. Joanne Leahy Sylvester cherished having him as her husband throughout their life together. Joanne had Charlie’s undivided affection. He was the son of Charles Sylvester, who passed away, and Shirley (Taylor), who also passed away, and he was born in Lowell on March 1, 1945. Charlie was born in Dracut and attended Dracut High School for his secondary education. After that, he followed in his father’s footsteps and enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country for a total of eight years.
The work of installing acoustic ceilings was something that Charlie really enjoyed doing. Charlie’s three favorite things to do in his spare time were watch hockey, go to craft fairs, and decorate his model train village for the winter holidays. In addition to that, he had a passion for exploring new places, particularly the White Mountains and Florida. In general, he treasured the time he was able to spend with his valued wife Joanne, as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
