According to the senior vice president and chief student experience officer, Allen Groves, who was quoted in the email, Banks was a “longtime part of the Orange community” before she was assigned to the position she currently holds in July of last year. According to the email, she has also been a member of the Board of Visitors at the School of Education since 2009. During that time, she has served as the chair of the board for a total of seven years.

Banks was employed at Skidmore College, Mount Holyoke College, and both Hobart and William Smith Colleges prior to beginning work at SU during the summer of 2017. Banks attended Syracuse University’s School of Education and graduated with a bachelor’s, a master’s, and a doctorate degree.
