Brian Harlmert, the baseball coach of Coldwater High School, has gone away. Coach of baseball at Coldwater High School and instructor at a middle school, Brian Harlamert passed suddenly on Wednesday morning. Coach Harlamert was described as a dedicated and inspirational influence for teachers, students, and athletes by Coldwater School Superintendent Doug Mader in a letter to locals. Coach Harlamert was a member of the Coldwater family for 27 years, teaching science and coaching baseball for 26 of those years.
Harlamert was a beloved member of the Coldwater Schools community who would be sorely missed, according to Mader. Counselors and other professionals will be on hand in every building at every school for anyone who might require assistance during this time. In the upcoming days and weeks, according to Mader, the district will also have counseling personnel available to meet with students one-on-one and in groups. Mr. Harlamert will be remembered during a prayer vigil on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the church parking lot. Read More

On March 21, 2017, at 7:45 p.m., MARVIN B. HARLAMERT, 77, of Piqua, passed away in his home. He was born to the late Lloyd and Luella (Katerheinrich) Harlamert in Sidney, Ohio, on August 13, 1939. On November 14, 1970, he wed Barbara Jean (Leas) Harlamert in Dayton, Ohio. She passed away before him. He is survived by two sons, Dorsey (Debbie) Bartrum of Middletown, Ohio, and Douglas (Cynthia) Davis of Piqua, four daughters, Frances (Jamie) Bixler of Piqua, Cheryl Bartrum of Blanchester, Ohio.
Judy L. Neves of Middletown, Ohio, and Kimberly D. Traylor of Piqua, two brothers, Roger Harlamert of Rockford, Ohio, and David Harlamer Richard E. Bartrum, his only son, died before him. Marvin earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in business from Miami Jacobs College. He worked as the snack bar manager at Edison Community College for eight years. He prepared meals in the kitchen for Ponderosa Steak House in Piqua for four years before retiring in 1996. The Pastor Brian Hamilton will preside over a graveside service on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.
