Robert “Bob” James Schnepf, who was 73 years old at the time of his passing, was a resident at the Avera Dougherty House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. On Thursday, September 15, 2022, a celebration of Bob’s life will be place at the George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls. His family will begin the evening by greeting friends at 5:00 PM, and then the event will transition into a time for sharing memories at 7:00 PM. * We ask that you arrive to the memorial service ready to tell your favorite Bob tale. James and Mary Ann (Bucklew) Schnepf welcomed their son Robert James Schnepf into the world on December 14, 1948 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Bob was born and raised in Parker, South Dakota, and attended school there until he graduated from Parker High School in 1967. The University of South Dakota in Vermillion was where he chose to pursue his further study. Bob fell in love with Teresa Jo “Terry” Olander while they were both students at the same university. On March 10, 1973, in Mobridge, South Dakota, Bob and Terry were joined together in marriage. The couple raised their family in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and were given the gift of two children: a son named Kyle and a girl named Kaitlin. Bob worked his whole life in finance, the majority of which was spent at Midland National Life Insurance. Bob’s retirement years were spent traveling, playing golf, and spending time at his cabin in the Black Hills. Read more
