On September 17, 2022, Betty Jane Hopkins Fritz, who had reached the age of 82, passed away and went home. Betty was born in Rome, Georgia on November 4, 1939. Her parents, Arthur “A.M.” Hopkins and Lydia Estelle Bonnell Hopkins, both passed away before her birth. Our devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother spent her final days encircled by her loved ones, which brought her the utmost happiness throughout her life. Betty spent her childhood years in the Cassville neighborhood.
Cass High School honored her by naming her the class valedictorian when she graduated in May 1957. Before she enlisted in the military in 1957, she had a brief employment history with the telephone business. She met her future husband, Warren, while working as a dental assistant for the United States Army at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. The couple tied the knot in 1960, and she received an honorable release from the army the following year. . Read more

Betty Jane Fritz, who was 69 years old and from Sebewaing, Michigan, passed away at her home on Monday, December 19, 2016.Betty was born in Sebewaing on March 23, 1947. Her parents, Frank and Mildred (Schneider) Lorentz, were her parents. At the New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, on the 24th of June in 1967, she wed Larry Fritz. The New Salem Lutheran Church was one of her favorite places to worship, and for many years she served on the church’s flower committee.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, seeing her granddaughter compete in sports, and cooking and baking with her granddaughter. Her favorite teams were the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers. Betty is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Sherry (Trevor) Kain of Sebewaing and Jerry Fritz of Sebewaing; her granddaughter, Jessica Fritz; her siblings, Judy Weigold, Barbara Weisenbach, and Pat (Howard) Adams; and a large number of nieces and nephews. Both of Betty’s parents and her sister Kathleen Lorentz have passed away before her. Source
