Car or truck crashes through outdoor seating at Warwick clam shack 2 harm – Vehicle Accident
WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Two people ended up rushed to the hospital Friday following a vehicle drove by means of the outdoor seating place at Tommy’s Clam Shack in Warwick.
Police explain to 12 News a woman was driving by the parking large amount when she “inadvertently strike the accelerator” and hit two people sitting at a picnic table exterior the Warwick Avenue eatery.
Frank Howard was sitting close by when he observed the motor vehicle barreling to the restaurant.
“I listened to the gravel and this car or truck coming as a result of,” Howard recalled. “[The car] arrived correct by my desk … it skipped our desk by two or 3 ft, and went right into the table in front of us. It smashed 1 desk and then took the two victims with them.”
Police said a lady was transported to Rhode Island Healthcare facility with life-threatening accidents. A person was also brought to the healthcare facility with injuries in which he is listed in stable condition.
Tommy’s Clam Shack has closed for the day, and an employee speaking on behalf of the enterprise said their hearts go out to the victims.
It’s unclear at this time no matter if the driver will be billed. The crash stays beneath investigation.
