Andrejs Rubins Obituary: Rubins was used on the left side of the midfield. He played 117 games for the Latvia national team, which places him in second place all-time among players on the national team for most games played. Rubins was a member of the national football teams of Latvia, Sweden, Azerbaijan, the United Kingdom, and Russia during his career, which spanned from 1996 until 2012. Andrejs Rozentals, Three Rivers, MI: After a very brief bout with cancer, Andrejs Rozentals, age 84, from Three Rivers, Michigan, passed away on October 5, 2020 at his home with his devoted family by his side. He was a fighter until the end. His parents, Ludvigs and Alida (Meija) Rozentals, welcomed him into the world on August 3, 1936 in Riga, Latvia. He was their third and youngest child. His son Gunars Juris Rozentals and his older brother Gunars Rozentals both passed away before him. Gunars Rozentals passed away first. Andy Rozentals is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruta (Krinte) Rozentals, a daughter named Andra Anna Rozentals, a son named Valdis Andrejs Rozentals, and a sister named Dzidra Dagmara Apsite. Andrejs also left behind four beloved grandchildren, Lidija (Aija) Lillie, Andrejs, Zinaida and Zile Rozentals. In the same way that many other families from Latvia did, Andrejs’ family fled the Communist Soviet Russia Occupation and eventually settled down in a small town in Germany. After some time, they ended up in a camp for displaced people known as Ansbach. Full Obituary

Andrejs “Andy” Jurjans Obituary: Andrejs “Andy” Jurjans, 82 years old, passed away on October 24, 2021 in Sarasota while he was surrounded by his family. Andrejs was born and raised in Riga, Latvia until he was five years old, at which point he moved with his family to Fargo, North Dakota via Germany. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in engineering from NDSU, he started his professional life working for the Department of the Navy in San Francisco. After that, he relocated to Washington, District of Columbia, and began working for the Department of the Navy, where he remained until his retirement 38 years later. Full Obituary
