According to the authorities, a collision involving two vehicles that occurred on Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 171 resulted in the death of a woman from Moss Bluff from her injuries. According to Derek Senegal of Louisiana State Police Troop D, Amy Carol Richard, 44, was operating a 2016 Honda CRV while traveling on Parish Road around 6:30 in the morning. Richard was attempting to turn left onto Highway 171 when he was involved in a collision with a 1993 Chevrolet Blazer that was driving south on the highway.
According to Senegal, Richard was taken to a local hospital suffering from critical injuries, but she did not survive her injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet had just minor injuries. According to Senegal, the driver of the Chevrolet was appropriately buckled up, but it is yet unknown to the police whether or not Richard was using a seat belt. Carol Lee Richard, age 80, of Ross Township, Michigan, who was the cherished wife of the late Charles Richard, died away in a calm and peaceful manner on August 24, 2022 with her family by her side. Survived by her loving daughter, Lisa (Michael) Steffl, and son, Charles (Jill) Richard; brothers, Ronald (Judy) Golob and Joseph (Linda) Golob; proud Nunnie of Jennifer (Scott), Michael (Summer) Jr., Ashley (Ian), Buddy (Brittney), Katie (Brett), Becca (Dave), Jacob, Carly, Danny, and April and her 13 great-grandchildren Her siblings Sandra (late Robert) Green, Dorothy (William) Lott, and Charles Golob all preceded her in death before she did.
Carol was a committed member of the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, where she enjoyed helping out with the church fairs and was particularly delighted to be a participant in a research project to assist in the discovery of a treatment for those who suffered from emphysema. Carol’s favorite pastime was baking, and she looked forward to her monthly swimming play date with her grandchildren and the youngsters of the neighborhood. At Simons Funeral Home, Inc., located at 7720 Perry Highway, the family will greet visitors on Sunday from 2:30 to 7:00 pm.
In 10:00 a.m. on Monday, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at the St. Teresa of Avila Church of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. Read more
