Aliyah Henderson Obituary: The mother of the man’s child has been identified as the victim of a shooting that resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old man. The home on Crescent Valley Drive was the location where the shooting took place at approximately 1:45 p.m., as stated by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. Aliyah Henderson, 19, was discovered by the deputies who responded to the scene suffering from the effects of a gunshot wound. She succumbed to her injuries at home and died there. Trevon Vanzant was taken into custody by deputies after being linked to the death of Henderson. The couple’s young child, who was home at the time of the shooting but was unharmed, was present when it occurred. It is believed by the detectives that Vanzant and Henderson were arguing prior to him shooting Henderson. Two counts of second-degree murder, one count of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon are all charges that have been brought against Vanzant. At the Rappahannock Regional Jail, he is being held without the possibility of bond. Full Obituary

On May 24, 2021, a young woman named Aliyah Jordan Garris, who resided in Davidson County and was 18 years old, passed away. Aliyah attended South Davidson High School and was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Denton. She graduated from South Davidson High School. To name just a few of her wonderful qualities, she shone with radiance, was intelligent, kind, funny, and sassy all at the same time. Aliyah had an old spirit and was very fervent in her beliefs, which contributed to the fact that she was so singular and artistic. She enjoyed listening to music from the 1980s, reading, and acquiring new skills such as sewing in her spare time. Instead of the traditional graduation gift of cash, she expressed interest in receiving a sewing machine as a token of her accomplishment. In addition to this, she was one of a kind in the way that she would center a party that was thrown in her honor around the fact that her grandmother would prepare spaghetti. This was always her go-to meal when entertaining guests. Her top priorities in life were spending time with her wonderful family and her two gorgeous cats, Latte and Sock. Aliyah was such a stunning and photogenic young lady. There is a lot more that could be said about the beautiful person that she is on the inside, but there just aren’t enough words to do justice in describing this incredible young lady. Her grandfather, Paul Garris, passed away before Aliyah did. / Aliyah was predeceased by her grandfather. Full Obituary
