Alan Charles Schultz Richmond, Virginia: On May 9, 1957, Alan Charles Schultz made his debut into the world in Richmond, Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Print Journalism from American University, where he studied for his education (1979). After graduating from American University, Alan launched his professional life by acquiring a Mollen’s Auto Audio franchise in Fairfax. He joined the Navy Center for Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence (NCARAI), which is part of the Naval Research Laboratory, while he was still a student at George Mason University (NRL). After receiving his Master of Science degree in 1988, he continued his career at NRL, where he rose through the ranks to become the Head of the Intelligent Systems Section. He went on to become NCARAI’s Director in 2005 and remained in that role until his retirement in 2018. Full Obituary
